Israel facing the climate crisis - are we at the point of no return?
What the experts had to say, Conference 2050
Just like every year, the "2050" conference brought together some of the top organizations in Israel. Expert opinions were expressed and one burning question was asked: how will Israel cope with the climate crisis?
A few hundred years ago, the Earth was home to about one billion people.
Progress and technology has changed our lifestyles forever, bringing about the personal desire of each of us to live at the highest possible standard.
All of these factors have turned the emission of greenhouse gases into a real problem.
In 2015, the UN Climate Conference convened in Paris, where the "Paris Agreement" was born with the support of the world’s greatest powers.
The agreement covers the emission of greenhouse gases and the necessary adaptation to the damage caused by climate change.
However, in reality things have not been too great.
It seems like despite the tremendous effort (some would say) of the great powers, the Earth's inhabitants have not yet found the ultimate solution to changing the trend of global warming.
on January 17, 2023, all of the influential figures relating to the environment convened, among them Minister of the Environment Ms. Idit Saliman, content manager Dr. Miki Haran and many other good people who are to determine the future of Israel in the area of renewable energy.
At the conference, different approaches were presented regarding the ways to solve the most burning problem of the 21st Century: global warming.
The 2050 Conference has been the forum leading the climate change discourse for the last 21 years.
The emphasis this time was the climate crisis - innovation, policy, economy and society.
The speakers at the conference presented practical solutions and appropriate policies that will enable Israel to cope with the crisis, as well as assessments and innovations - each speaker in their specific area of expertise.
This year, Teralight Solar Tech sponsored this important event, as one of the companies that supported
the conference. This event proves itself every year as a central and strategic force that encourages and promotes necessary processes and helps in formulating policies.
At the conference, an interview was conducted with the Teralight Group's VP for Business Development and Regulation, Mr. Gal Sofroni, who spoke about the company's vision with regards to a variety of topics including the following questions - Is it still possible to make a change?
In what way can the devastating results of the climate crisis be mitigated?
Should a climate law be implemented in Israel?
What are the company’s launch plans for the future?
